This is our home that we are renting! The newly trimmed square bushes were my doing, and everything else was Nate. We love being in a home, love having a yard, and really enjoy our neighbors--most of whom don't speak English, but those that do are very nice.We came home from church on Sunday realizing that we are now supporting the arts in our neighborhood. It's great to see the young people really branching out and trying new things.
We found out that the previous tenants had a very profitable business. $15 million dollars of which was seized in Dallas county's largest drug bust in history. Interestingly the managers of the house must not have known, because when Nate asked him, he said it was five months ago down the street, not a couple weeks before we were negotiating the property and in our house.
And probably most interesting of all is we love it! We still feel safe, Mackay is making friends with the neighbor children, another neighbor is taking us for "real" Tex-Mex tonight, and the elderly couple across the street gave us a "beautiful" angel as a house warming gift. Anti-Mormon or not, they are very nice.
Everyone keep in touch, and we'll let you know about the latest police chase! (Which we've only had one of, and the guy unfortunately didn't get caught. And don't worry, Mackay and I were safely playing on the grass, not in the street.)
We love you all!

so ummm i actually watched the news when they were talking about that bust, small world huh. and dont you think im trying to settle down? its hard work kalli, all in due time, all in due time. the girl im with is good but give it time and ill have my own baby so i wont have to steal yours
Do you have any idea what that art work says or if it has a meaning?
You need to take a family picture in the same doorway that the news picture shows and post it next to it. :) -David
Loved this post. Jealous that you have a house (even if you are just renting it). The lesson I learned from living in the ghetto (pot smoking neighbors and homicides behind dumpsters) is to keep your door locked at night because your neighbor just might try to get inside while in a drunk rage. If it's locked, he'll just end up repeatedly kicking it instead.
I'm glad you have modern art to look at and nice gifts from old people.
So not ghetto! That's a cute house, I bet you love it! Glad you like your neihgborhood and all. Just try to stay away from the drugees.
hahahaha!! you are so funny! that's so hilarious!
