The older Mackay gets, the funner it is to be a mom! Nate and I were eating dinner, with Mackay sitting next to us. When we looked down at her, she was making this "funny face". I know she was just trying to get her fingers in her mouth, but we had a good laugh. She continued doing this for a few days whenever she got bored. Mackay is almost 5 months old now and still wearing her newborn and 0-3 month clothing. I got out her 3-6 month clothes to see if anything was close to fitting. As you can see, probably not yet. This is her in her Stealer's outfit that Grandpa Fillmore and uncles got her. You can tell on her face she's thinking, "What the heck are you making me wear?"
"Happy Birthday, Berkeley!" Mackay's friend, Berkeley just turned 1. How exciting! This is us at his birthday party. Mackay got him the most studly jean jacket!
Where's Mackay? Before Mackay was born, the only thing Nate wanted to get her was something camouflage. We ran across these pink camo pajamas at Old Navy and new we had to get them. Too bad you can't see her when she's wearing them, though.

The "oh yeah" photos
These are all the pictures that I meant to post, but somehow they got bypassed. Or a walk down memory lane reminds me that some of these pictures just have to be documented.
Here is Mackay getting her hair combed after her first day home. Look at those skinny legs!
A reminder that not even babies are photogenic all the time.
First outfit--also my first outfit when I was little.
Mackay's first rat-tail. This is from Nate combing her hair after just getting home.
I just can't believe how small she was! I walked in the door from the hospital and fell right asleep. I woke up to a pretty sight.
This is the last documented picture of my being pregnant. I was always upset that I didn't get a picture of my humongous belly, always saying that tomorrow I will get ready for the day and I can get a good picture. Well, finally "tomorrow" was March 29, and it was too late. This is me in labor, actually. Yeah, that's a thumbs up. Praise drugs.

A month gone by...
I have no idea how I let a month go by without posting any news or photos of our amazing adventure with Mackay, but the truth is, I haven't taken many pictures this month! Shame on me. Here is the collaboration of what I did take:
This is me attempting to do a photo shoot like the ones Nate always does. Apparently she just woke up, so it didn't work very well.
But here's a winner!Mackay's first attempts at eating solids. Sometimes I wonder if she likes her fist or bib more than the mushed up bananas, but who knows.
And then here's Nate's photo shoot, they look much more professional--obviously he has had more practice.
Uncle Matt--the best babysitter in the world--Mackay is asleep.
Nate's photo shoot continued.
She looks so old!
Scared, upset, appalled...probably.

You have my permission to be jealous
Mitt Romney came to Idaho Falls this weekend, and since we are so politically involved, we went to a rally at the airport. I'll give you the play-by-play.They told us it started at 3:30, but it actually didn't start until 4:30, so we just waited...and waited...
Oh, look! I see him! There he is!
Oh my goodness, he's coming this way! Wow, he's cute.
Holy Hannah! The perks of having a baby! (Everyone started snapping pictures, so he is looking at someone else who he thinks is my husband. That's okay, we'll forgive you, Mitt.)
Can you believe he touched my shoulder! And can you believe he's 60?
Afterwards they were selling "Romney Beer" (also known as root beer) for only $10! What a steal! So of course we got one.
"Love that flavor! The bold, full flavor of Romney Root Beer is a result of a proprietary 60-year aging process that begins in Detroit and ends in Washington D.C. Seasoned in Massachusetts, with the finest educational and political laurels, it was cold-filtered in 2002 in the frosty mountain ranges of Utah. Romney Root Beer is unique and unprecedented, delivering a fresh, crisp alternative with a light, clean aftertaste. It's ideally suited for all ages and political affiliations."Ingredients: Over 40 years of proven leadership, JD/MBA from Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School, Cofounder of Bain Capital, CEO of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, Governor of Massachusetts, 44th President of the United States of America
If that's not healthy, I don't know what is!

1st backpacking trip and more
Mackay went on her first backpacking trip last weekend. She did really good, though camping isn't as relaxing as it used to be. Also on the trip Mackay laughed for the first time! She was just smiling as I scratched dried milk off her cheek, and then she let out a little giggle. I hurried and put her binkie in her mouth before realizing that she had laughed! These are our friends the Becketts with their 9-month old Hannah.
Funny story: We had oatmeal for breakfast. Nate poured his oatmeal in his bowl while waiting for the water to boil--then he stood up and knocked it all over the ground. He actually tried to salvage what he could, spooning it back into his bowl and picking out sticks and rocks while he ate. He then repeated the process--literally. Put oatmeal into bowl, waited for water to boil, stood up and spilled it in the exact spot as before.
Mackay sleeping in the tent so cute.
The boys were really excited about the rope swing that was at the lake by our camping site. It didn't matter that it was so cold they couldn't breath for a few seconds after jumping in, they just kept going back for more.
We went to Pack Saddle lake where we attempted to go before but never made it. Later we found out that we were only about a half mile from our destination!
Me and Amy with our sleeping babies.
"You talkin' to me?"
Strike a pose.
Nate and Mackay spending quality time together watching tv.
"Excuse me, can't you see I'm naked?!"

So Many Things!
We went on another hike to try to find Pack Saddle Lake. After about five miles of hiking, and nothing in sight, we finally decided to turn around and go home. Once we got home we realized that we didn't start out on the right trail in the first place. Oh, well. It was fun just being together in the outdoors--NOT! We forgot Mackay's binkie in the car and decided not to go back for it. She definitely taught us a lesson. When Nate was carrying her she seemed to be happy......though the second I got her she would just start screaming. We have definitely learned our lesson.
I just thought this was a cute picture of Mackay drooling milk on Nate while she slept.Just by seeing her sweet little face you can probably tell that Mackay got her 2 month shots. We had one rough day, though it past and somehow we all survived.
Once I hit the infamous six week mark after giving birth to Mackay I hit the gym. Being pregnant definitely scared me straight that I never want to be overweight! A friend of mine thought it would be fun if we ran the 5K in the Teton Dam Marathon, and for some reason I said yes. So, after working my heart out for four weeks and trying to recover from being in the worst shape of my life, I did it! My time was 35 minutes, rounding up from 34:58, and I am so proud of myself!Christine did it for the shirt and medal, and I probably did it to prove something to myself, but whatever the reason, we had a blast.

Mackay's New Friend
I know I just posted yesterday, but I just couldn't wait. Mackay has found a new friend in the mirror.
